Last March, in hiring Mr. Asser, Mr. Rea asked him to adopt the nickname of a former trader, Skibum. In an e-mail message to Mr. Asser confirming his employment contract, Mr. Rea said: "Under no circumstances will you allow anyone at Trading Places know the `real identity' of the nickname `skibum.'
