Why I was just watching cable news this morning, and they were making a HUGE do about Sponge Bob and his purportedly gay cartoon friends. Why does this matter? Because if you are going to be a member of the religious right and support intelligent design and be against abortion and generally support the tenets of the religious right, I would think you would also support them on this. What is it called when Catholics pick and choose? Oh, that's it--cafeteria Catholics. Same thing, different religion--why, someone might even call you a hypocrite or something!

It wasn't just one's ability to draw irrational conclusions about cartoons in general that we were talking about, what you said was very specific: "If we get anyone at all on this thread who thinks Sponge Bob is promoting homosexuality...".

I would suggest to you that you will not find anyone who is not associated with a religious group involved in this, and I think you will find few people who consider themselves more christ centered than the folks at Focus on the Family. If one of them showed up here, you said you would call them a fool. Now you say that was a joke at the expense of religious folks.

I have never claimed to be as sensitive to religion as a deist like yourself, but when you say I mock the religious, and THEN proceed to suggest that religious folks who believe something that you don't should be called fools (as a joke), I'm surprised even you wouldn't see a bit of a hypocrisy problem there.

If you are "bored" don't post to me, it's very simply. I think you like the opportunity to continually insult me, and you just can't help answering each and every post of mine. I wouldn't mind being wrong about that, though.

And read up on Focus on the Family. I don't see how you could know anything about them, and not understand that religion has everything to do with their conclusions about cartoon characters.
