My erudition is offended. ;-) I've never had any friends that were Plains Indians and if someone claims to know, it is possible that what I've learned could be wrong. When the student is ready and all that... I have known people from other tribes (Pueblo) and they seemed really separated from their tribal past. Having killed animals for sport I feel that I've got a credible experience that allows me to say, IMO, a lot less meat would be eaten if people had to slaughter, skin and gut their own carcass every night.
