That was the story according to the alleged cell phone calls. The only problem is, to the best of my knowledge, there isn't a speck of evidence in the public domain to verify that the calls actually took place. Maybe they did, and maybe they didn't. The cell phone calls are the only "proof" that has ever been presented to the American public that there were even hijackers on board the planes.
