How many of the folks who spout anti-zionism here would have been happy about taking a few million Jewish refugees in post WW2 time frame? Also an unhappy note, i remember my dad telling me that many american jews opposed open immigration here as well as they felt it would compromise the progress made my second and third generation Jews already in the US. I remember as a boy references made to refugees allowed into the US in negative terms. Human behavior never truly measure up to human ideal & NIMBY always seems to win.
