Given that BiDil is a novel combination of two old drugs whose patents have long expired, this is a way to get more life out of expired patents. It may be more than that, but given the eagerness of drug companies to figure out ways to keep their patents going, I am cynical.

I am taking a generic drug for an off-label purpose -- because if I take it for the on-label purpose, it's not a generic anymore. Generic = $7, non-generic > $100.

Caveat emptor.

Funny article comparing BiDil to Goober Grape, you know, the stuff that combined peanut butter and grape jelly in the same jar. Apparently the major drug companies don't want to sell it so Nitromed plans to market it themselves.

It seems to me that its utility would be another tool in the toolkit.

I think it would make a terrific reality TV program.

Which of two teams can better market the product, Ajax or Blackjax?

One member of the losing team WILL BE FIRED.

See you in the boardroom.
