I must admit that I have not studied the situation in China much. I would expect there would be some limitations to their growth (e.g. resources; energy). I will have to do some research on some of the other threads on SI that have been following the China situation more closely. Friends that have been there recently can confirm the boom- lots of construction etc. Seems like China is driving moly demand and it might be pertinent to examine the what ifs.

I wish the Chinese were buying more gold- perhaps then we could go over $500 <g>.

It's the US in 1930 IMO. OUCH! .... not fun times that.... maybe 50's as far as consumerism...
