as i recall, when the market slowed and trades were tougher to find, tony started making some very weird calls. i'd see a call, look at the stock and wonder what he was thinking.... they were typically thin, no pop and nothing i saw indicated it was a good short....

a 30 second review said ignore that idea... i think that was when NSOL was called. my *guess* is the problems started then, as identified by these stocks that didn't fit the typical short mold. but then, that's just a guess.

if true that suggests this issue only happened late in the game... fbi searches by royer would have told the real story i'd guess. maybe we'll never know. wait, maybe i can get that cute fbi agent to give me some inside info and.... (just kidding breen)

I posted this directly from the criminal complaint on the "Banned" thread yesterday.

"I wish the journalists had provided a clearer chronology. I'm still not sure when Royer hooked up with Cleveland, and when Cleveland "introduced" Royer to Elgindy. My impression, which may be wrong, was that Royer wasn't passing on info for very long; maybe for a year, maybe less."

Royer and Cleveland were already involved in 1999. C introduced R and A@P in late 1999. Payments to Royer didn't start, however, until Nov 2000. And, I should note, the complaint specifies that the payments to R. were coming from C. (although they could have gone from A --> C --> R.
