SI Bob

I usually go straight to the Subject Marks---but just stopped in your site. So must post in hopes that what I say can be of comfort and hope for you.

Enjoyed reading about the music. I truly know what you are going through.

If it is mono----I had it as an adult woman----yes wiped out my muscles-----needed to sleep, sleep. The throat and sore throat-----antibiotics----rehydration, hospital stuff.

What helped me and may help you:

Compounded vitamins or regualr vitamins What really helped as I began to sleep less were the B vitamins----and then B-12 injections. The B-12 injections were the magical one for me.

The injections get the energy right into the blood stream---performers frequently get B-12 injections when doing a show---understand I am not prescribing just giving experience. ( I had mine yesterday----and was able to focus better today and was at the piano for about two hours.)

Another suggestion------have your family to serve you food on throw away plates-----mono is contagious and is not just a "kissing" disease, it can be carried on utensils and plates. I got it via the utensils and food that a neighbor brought to to me when her son had mono ---I had just come back from Calif. and she was there with the ever welcome food to welcome me. There were three of us on our street who got the mono/EBV.

One of the illness that mimics Mono is Hepatitis C----there has been a major reoccurence here in the East. No doubt your doctor is checking for everything----if he hasn't checked for Hep C ---you may want to suggest he include the Hepatitis C check.

Take care of yourself and know that you are thought of and appreciated for the work that you have done and do on SI.

Might SI users be liable for reposting material written by others that is later deemed libelous? The California Supreme Court has agreed to decide a similar issue:
