<What do you attribute the overall lack of creativity, enthusiasm, etc., to?> Congenital lack of it. Fear of making a mistake. Toadying to the boss. Laziness. Couldn't care less. Feathering nests instead of doing good stuff. Posing instead of producing. Going along with the crowd. Fear of being an individual. Lowest common denominator groupthink. Arrogance. Stupidity. Lack of money. Difficulty in getting through committees, rules, regulations, laws, permits, procedures, management. NIH syndrome. Greed. Things like that. No particular order.
