What about a stock market massacre if the dollar keeps going up? Long term the bond market is toast as long term rates must move much higher. The hope it is slow and gradual with little pain which has a more likely chance of happening if the dollar slide is gentle.

The idea that preventing a recession is the Fed's number one priority is out of date IMHO.

The loss of the dollar's status as THE reserve currency would have far more serious consequences for the US economy than a recession at this point in time IMHO.

Now that the election is over time for the voters to experience some harsh realities.
