Mary, I agree that on its own this is meaningless - it simply triggered this discussion. However, there is a lot of genetic research occurring and I expect you will see a lot more of this coming. It will take the form of drugs that respond to specific genetic markers. Testing for the markers will follow some ethnic and symptom guidelines. I am guessing that we sometimes get into this tizzy about race because most african americans come from a specific reagion in Africa. They fit a similar profile for Eastern Europenan Jews (which can be clearly seen as ethnic rather than racial). Maybe we can all take CB's lead and drop 'race' in favor of 'ethnic'?
