Right...

Even though I find vulgarity to be offensive, I recognise that as protected speech...

...a sticker that basically says "f you" is an attack on other drivers and their families ... it is our civic duty to make sure the attack doesn't go unpunished.

Usually when reasonable men and women can see the issue a law can be enacted and the civil police can pick up the responsibility. Attacks on persons are not political speech no matter who the person is, there has to be some substantial issue included. If the sticker said f Bush because he did bla bla bla I would accept it as free speech....
