1. How would I know what he believes... it isn't deciferable. I believe he is nuts.
2. He definitely considers the baathists and Al-Quada jihadists his primary objective. However, I doubt that he would ever consider us on friendly terms as an enemy of his enemy, in fact, I would caution against such speculation. He is extreme and considers us in the way of establishing God's religious world government. Can't get any higher on his list than we are.
3. Iran has dealt with him via Sistani. Sistani is their high ranking Islamic scholar that all or most Shi'ites respect. However, Al-Sadr is an Arab not a persian like Sistani and Al-Sadr is racist. It is reported that he would kill any non-Arab who tries to compete with him for power in Iraq. Most of Iran is Shi'ite like him but Persian unlike him. So, he will attempt to raise his position on the shoulder of the Al-Mahdi Army which he intends to be the premier super power of the world in short order. If Iran is interested in supporting that development, they will get along just fine.
