Yes neocons are famous for being revisionists... Recall also from history that Hitler blamed the Reichstag fire on "Communists". They "found" some Dutch communist nearbye, tried and executed him. Now if Hitler was a Communist, as you suggest, surely he wouldn't blame such an event on his good comrades (at least he wouldn't point out so scornfully his political stripes).
