Either way, France, Germany, and Europe has a changing demographic basis that is increasingly looking Muslim. They have to do a good job at assimilating these Muslims and inculcating them into a moderate, religiously tolerant culture. Otherwise, Europe will become the next battle ground after the Middle East.

One last time.......Europe is not going Muslim no matter how many times you repeat it. Muslims make up a small portion of the population and so long as European unemployment rates remain high, its unlikely that the Muslim population will even grow, let alone grow by very much.

For Europe to not be actively engaged in ensuring democracy comes to the Middle East is incredible short-sighted and self-destructive. Bush has not given them room to save face, so I can understand their desire to see Bush fail, but if Europe had any truly great leaders, they would become the better men and join with the U.S. to solve Iraq and the other intractable problems in the Middle East, like Iran and Palestine.

Has it every dawned on you that they may see/understand something that Bush doesn't see? You readily admit Bush has failed to execute the war well. If Bush et al is incapable of doing that well, don't you think there might be other levels of incompetence at play here?

A clue.........C. Rice was brought on to educate Bush on foreign gov'ts and diplomacy.
