In general we do not have information as you presented, instead we are doing exploratory work. In the example you gave, we need to remove a finger from a button, which places our enemy in an active role not one of being subdued. I don't think the example is a real, typical, or a fair test of the principle. You admitted in an earlier post that you are willing to use a disagreeable means to achieve what you view as a good end. I don't believe the principle holds up.
