Imo, Jeb's strength in Florida is his ability to connect with latin americans. He has long had an interest in the region and he speaks damned good Spanish, better than mine and I'm close to fluent.

In 2008 it is pretty close to certain that the U.S. will still be focusing on the middle east, where Jeb has no particular strengths. Could even be a weakness; I think some of the USF stuff that hurt Castor happened under Jeb's watch. And he has zip in the way of national security credentials, so running against McCain would be tough.

Finally he hasn't shown eagerness to cozy up to the religious right like his brother has. So if he were to run it would be as a moderate republican ... essentially running against his own brother.

If Jeb is to go for the brass ring I think it will be in 2012.
