Ted Bundy's mother supported him for decades... she was not responsible for his choices, conduct, and lifestyle as a mass murderer... Your logic is as mendacious as blaming Bundy's mother... or are you and grainne misogynists too? that would explain a lot.

"I think it is your vehemence coupled with your erroneousness that is somewhat troubling."

I think it is your pomposity coupled with your snide manner that is somewhat troubling.

I shouldn't have said "never". I was focused, in my fact-checking of Grainne's post (which asserted we had supported a whole host of dictators and, by implication, that we "put them in power" or kept them there as well), on Pol Pot's rise and rule, not on his role in fighting the Vietnamese (as one of three rival anti-Vietnam forces) later. You see, one does not have time to fact check things beyond the scope of the discussion at hand.

But my bigger mistake was in opening the door to this tangential google spree. It has allowed Grainne to continue to evade the real question - how do policies of past administrations, however wrong they may seem in retrospect, translate into proof that George W. Bush's Iraq policy is wrong now? They don't.
