re: When a person with a belief in a personal god wants to discuss it with me, I tell them that from their point of view they can consider me an atheist....they really don't want to get to far beyond their own religion... But from the scientific point of view, I'm really an agnostic.

I always listen, I'm really interested in every religion. I especially like the Quakers on the Christian side. Zen Buddhism is cool and not political.

But I know I'm way too dumb to presume I have the answer the question of the origins and meaning of human life. 1000's of years of scientists, philosophers and prophets have tried, and they mostly disagree. I can't even figure how to break 80 in golf; I'm going to figure the universal truth? Not likely.

But it's also not a huge issue to me, I can't figure out why all sides get so worked up. I agree with Ten, if there is a cross in some logo, so what. But I agree with the other side that if we are building something new, why use Christian symbols over other religions? I actually object to the "Pledge of Allegiance" itself, on an every day basis, more than than use of the word "God". Who wants to "pledge allegiance" to the neo Bush administration?
