Less visibility for US forces and disengagement from combat ops are what i am thinking going forward. Less of a lightning rod, so to speak. There are several possible civil wars.
1. the one between sunni nationalists and jihadists
1a. nationalists and old regime baathists
1b. sunni tribal leaders and other sunnis and jihadists.
2. shiaa and sunni
3. sistani/al sadr
4. kurds and turks
5. kurds and sunnis
6. persians and iraqi shiaa

With all of this mess, there still can be a reasonable federal/confederal outcome where all parties can benefit except baath criminals and jihadi terrorists.
