But THAT means she now longer gets to engage in what she concieves of as a power trip, and what's the point then? If you think your ideas were misrepresented, you should correct the poster. My point stated better than I did. If she has facts and logic, she needs nothing else. The vast majority will see this and agree with her and her attackers will make fools of themselves. As it is, with her repeated threats of banning, she makes herself appear a meaningless tinhorn would-be dictator on one message board among thousands on the web. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, Bill. I have no fun here if people are constantly insulting me or especially the other women who post here. There are other threads where that is acceptable, and I hope everyone who enjoys that goes there. The circumstances that led to Jewel being banned occurred over a fairly long period of time, and I warned him many times that he needed to change his behavior. He did not. This is not kindergarten. People are responsible for the content of their posts, and their comportment. The terms of use have not changed. If someone's ideas are misrepresented continuously by a particular poster that in itself is a personal attack. I have no desire to spend every day defending to a hostile audience every word that I write. I don't do that to other people, and it makes for a very unpleasant environment. This is totally different from disagreeing about political positions or ideas on a particular subject. It really is character assassination when it goes that far. If you bothered to read all of the posts Jewel wrote over the last week or so, and my responses, you would see that I did correct him, and he continued. He said some really negative things about me, on several subjects. This is not a gauntlet--it's a place to have fun and exchange ideas. It's my responsibility to keep it that way. And I have really tried to be fair. Jewel is welcome to come back when he thinks he can follow the thread rules.
