Laura Tyson is On bloomberg radio Right Now, Re-Capping

and amplifying Stephen Roach's more dire articulations (from Davos) of a debt-ridden society and a goverment asleep at the wheel , doing nothing but making it all worse. I find this notable to hear these ideas coming over a mainstream radio. (I listen on the Net) However, bloomberg radio is on AM and can be heard in most of the Tri-State Area.

Darffot: I have had an IB account since April of 2004 and I love it. I trade mostly stock options. The brokerage rates are microscopic. They offer you just about everything as long as 1. It's electronic (electronic futures only), and generally they do not offer Options on Futures.

I highly recommend IB for speed and cheapness of transaction costs.

They do shut down however each night from 10:00PM chicgo until about 2:00 AM (3:00 AM perhaps). Unless you want to trade currencies in that timeframe it is not a serious drawback.

They do not have options on futures either.
Equity options yes, but nothing on currencies of oil or eurodollars. They only trade electronic markets so no corn or beans.

If you can live with the restrictions, IB has a nice setup.
Highly recommended.
