I'm not so sure Bush wants a stronger Dollar. The only time he and his administration say something positive is when our trading partners start complaining about the week Dollar. He's done nothing w/respect to action that says that he cares about a strong Dollar.

I suspect the Iraqi elections will go over even if there are widespread bombings (10-20+). This will for a ST be viewed as market positive, but I think it'll be Dollar neutral since our troop commitment and money spent there won't change much anytime soon.

JMHO.

A columnist for the Seattle Times, local I believe, said that because elections will be held, his long belief that the war was in error will be shown to be dead wrong. Ends justify the means, I guess. Maybe he doesn't realize we could have nuked the place and held the elections after the place cooled down and we'd have reached the same milestone. So far this milestone has cost my family of 5 about $4000 in taxes, future taxes, and future inflation, and I suspect the price will be around $10k before we are done, perhaps far more. I wish I could redirect my share to my kids' schools.

"You can bet your bottom dollar the Bushies will put a positive spin on the election results whatever they are.
"

It looks like they may already know.
