I think the pike are gone from Rend Lake. It's a good crappy and bass lake and now has the big stripers. Illinois has started stocking muskies which are pike's larger cousin. On several lakes in Illinois a muskie has to be over 48" to keep it. That's a big fish.

Since Rend is so shallow it gets rough quickly when the wind kicks up. I know guys who have hunted waterfowl there and had to walk their boats around the shore to get back because the lake was too rough to boat across.
