well that is the way it goes! Believing you serve my memory right in as so much as the Germans rushed on approvíng Bosnia and thus set off prematurely, what would most likely have taken place anyway, I agree. Then, when war broke out and the "Europeans" (France and Germany with the UK waiting on the sidelines pending first US reaction), they as usual called for the US to help them out.

This is in no way an accurate description of what happened and I even left out my personal hero Holbrooks but de facto it ain't to far off.

Having said all that, sure the war was invented by the trigger happy Norteamericanos and their President next used it to divert media attention from his BJ.
