I've never been able to come to a conclusion one way or the other on the alleged cell phone calls. It seems to me it would be a little hard to fake the voices, of a variety of just plain folks, well enough to fool close friends or relatives. On the other hand, the reports of cell phone calls always struck me as rather skimpy.

As close as I can tell, the focus on the cell calls is more in the way of an effort to back up other theories, such as remote controlled planes, substitute planes, missing hijackers, etc.. IMO most of those theories are overly speculative and involve a lot of conclusion jumping. We know that two of the PNAC boys had a ton of first hand knowledge of remote control technology. And we know another boy from the PNAC gang was a specialist in manipulating Arab terrorist types in black op scenarios. They had the means and opportunity to use both, and there was certainly plenty of protective cover for the guys with the fake IDs.

The part I've never been able to make sense of is what useful purpose would be served by faking the cell calls? I can't imagine finding 19 Oswalds would be that big a deal for these guys.

If the cell phone calls 'took place,' they were probably [made by] actors in a studio[.]

On what basis are you asserting that this is the "probabl[e]" explanation for the origin of the phone calls?
