I would think that since it's undeniable that stem cell research is intertwined with politics that a thread like this could be used to vett out the garbage and the honest stuff..

This field is an area in which there are many more questions and hopes than there are definitives..and quite frankly, given the emotionally and politically charged aspect of it..I don't know and would need help in knowing whose research and conclusions are scientifically honest..it sucks but imho, a reality...A reason I questioned the timing of the recent news on ESC contamination when a Who's Who's list of scientists signed a letter opposing Bush's ESC policy, got it published in the media during the campaign..and now we find out about the contamination? not political?..I dunno'...

imo, the bench scientists should stick with what they are most qualified and not intermingle it with politics...it makes their research and conclusions a reason for suspect....just as research by anti-ESC scientists on ESC's does..
