By programmatic, I meant something expressed in their physical makeup, which overrides their free will to choose their sexual orientation. Nature vs nurture.

You know, I was thinking about this whole issue in more detail and am willing to soften my stance a bit. In particular, I was thinking about fat people. The large majority of fat people don't have a genetic disorder that predisposes them to being fat. The large majority just eat too much, eat bad types of food, and don't get enough exercise, especially here in the U.S. However, there is a small percentage of those fat people who do have a genetic disorder that slows down their metabolism or makes them unable to breakdown fat as effectively, or any one of another number of bodily issues that predispose them to be fat.

Likewise, I will bet that as the science advances, we will find that the majority of homosexuals have made the choice to be gay, but that some percentage of them are genetically predisposed, meaning they are more likely to be gay due to something in their physical makeup.

Just random musings.
