You will notice the strange arms for cash deal with $500 million going into the dark market for weapons through secretive channels -- you might also ask what our policy is that the Iraqis, even under our occupation, find themselves going around the restrictions we have placed on them for now. We lost control of Iraq the day we invaded -- in truth, Iraq has never been under our control.

Where ya been? Is it not obvious to every educated human being on the planet that the US has made nearly its entire military establishment available to the Iraqis for their defense and security?

"I am curious how many weapons and what kinds of weapons we plan to leave for the Iraqis to use.

Your curiosity seems to be about what stupid things we could do more than what noble things we have done and are doing... odd very odd zig zaging and waggish contributions to this thread you make... hmmmm ... indeed.

"...end up in the hands of a hostile power if the Iraqis don't end up being our "friends"? I've seen almost no discussion of this."

Nor is that likely, at least by sane and sensible persons.
