If you refer to the list of things that we are not permitting Iraq to buy, much less give them, you might see it the other way around. If Iraq did what we asked, they would either be largely defenseless -- as they are now -- and/or completely reliant on our military forever -- as they are now. When we are finally kicked out of Iraq, they will do as they please, and already seem inclined to do so. But they will do it in the time honored manner -- with the huge cash flows from oil and an arms market salivating to do business.
