Answer:
The democrats haven't had a winning President that got more then 50% of the vote since Carter in 1976 that's 29 years ago, I think your party is dead.

I don't think the market level would have made much difference. The great majority of people who rate their investments highly enough to use for their political decision-making vote Republican. Odd, since Democrats are MUCH better for the markets, but it's not like they can figure out that sort of thing. <G> I know that in the investment business, the workforce is about 4-1 regressives over progressives. And it makes sense. Where else can you make a fortune losing other peoples' money? True, you can do it with lots of corporations with Republican rip off values, but you have to know something to get a job with them in the first place. Even Enron wanted you to be an engineer or systems analyst or something that requires arithmetic. You don't have to know diddly, other than people, in this biz.

I think it was the fake moral values stuff about not killing people until they're born and then doing it en masse, not one by one, and disenfranchising anyone who is slightly different in the name of expanding freedom, that rang the bell in their bb brains. Also, to be fair to the Republicrook voters, Kerry had the charisma of cold oatmeal. It's good for you, but not appealing. At least Bush always gives you a laugh. He's the first American President to speak at the UN and require English speaking ambassadors to wear those translation headsets. <G>
