I cannot agree any more with the below, however: because of the Enterprise and their concerted effort to ensure that day trading would be equated solely with high-volume scalp securities trading with $100,000+ annual commissions (as Congress found), those traders had virtually no chance at all to make a profit. If the corrupt IA sites had not taken kickbacks, had called maybe 1-3 plays a day and some days none at all, had advised to short-term swing some of them (maybe buy an option for insurance), we all now know the HUGE gains were almost always from overnight gaps, well then traders were in the right place at the right time to make a fortune. Berber and his RICO conspirators not only ruined people; they also defrauded me and thousands of others of the opportunity to earn a huge living, for we were there at the right time to be a committed trader, very few people would argue that as to 1998-2000. So, you have an indication of how damages are going to be calculated, and by the way my direct and opportunity loss damages are not the $10 million figure bandied about here; they're $20 million. Berber earned $350 million not only destroying traders, but cheating them out of their opportunity to make profits, so that he could, quite illegally, make his own. olivier, daytraders sooner or later will end up losing every dime they have.
