Restricting choice to a pitiful few options increases risk... not the otherway around. Restricting investments to US stock index and US bond index might server to temporarily inflate the value of those specific assets (& the profits of those firms producing the investment vehicles) --- but it's also most likely to greatly increase risks for participants and REDUCE their returns.
