at least he lowered the interest for the time being -- sounds like the spending had already taken place to me.

that is kind of lame, citing the anecdote of a guy whose wife dies of cancer. the anecdote is supposed to prove a general point, so you don't use an outlier case. first rule of journalism. no wonder the article is in the prestigious Kansas City Star -g-.
