I read a review of "Million Dollar Baby" that talked about the ending, and I am glad I did not see it. I would have been really ticked off. Let's just say that if you are expecting an upbeat movie about a talented young boxer beating the odds, this ain't it. I love Eastwood, but he's gotten really dark. I was glad I waited to see "Mystic River" on HBO, so I could read the newspaper during the really dark bits. Actually turned off the TV during part of it towards the beginning. I recommend "House of Flying Daggers." Not exactly upbeat, either, but beautiful.
