NPR is did a 3 hours documentary on Auschwitz this week. I hope that all of you were able to see it. For the first time I was able to understand how and why the policy of extermination was developed and instituted.. The film also showed what nationalities it was used against first. During the intermission there is a discussion between two grandchildren of survivors. Those who were original survivors are very few and are in their seventies. As much as I have studied about WW II and the policy of the Final Solution this particular presentation was very illuminating and offered me things that I had not known previously. Man's Inhumanity to Man. It never ceases.
