So are the terrorists. And they use their hammers more
frequently & with more malice than unclewest IMO.

Perhaps unconventional war is the more appropriate use of
words. Perhaps not.

IMO, it's the tactics that are different, not the terminology.

The terrorists are seeking to kill us in large numbers as are
we in order to defend ourselves from them.

In WWII, we didn't line up at opposing sides of an open area,
stand & shoot at each other as was common in wars fought in
Europe for hundreds of years.

Times change & so do the tactics. This time the enemy is not
a nation state or an axis power. What remains the same is
that one group acted on their desires (repeatedly until
9/11), now both sides are engaged & lots of people are being
killed in an ongoing struggle - hopefully until there is a
clear victor.

In that sense, it's a war to me.
