I like Hewitt ... a real battler ... But Serena? .....

.......... I've never really liked the Williams family. That kind of changed this past week, though, when I saw Serena overcome innumerable obstacles. She was so gracious to Lindsay Davenport in defeat.

Hewitt's father was apparently a great Australian Rules football player. So he's got a tough act to follow. He's really gotten in shape to take on the current crop of phenomenal tennis players. He and Safin are my favorites on the scene. That should make tonight difficult. I'm going to pull for a raucous Rod Laver Arena.

Jennifer Capriati and Monica Seles are my favorites and always have been. Such fighters. I like Maria Sharapova nowadays, but she really wilted on me this week.

You can't beat the setting and the time of the Australian Open.
