That doesn't explain WHY identical twins will be quite different (sometimes even mirrored - those are weird). Their genetic base is austensibly the same. It is noteworthy, HOWEVER, that differences manifest in every organism that has a clone. Nature would seem to be likely to produce analog systems with resonant feedback mechanisms rather than systems that run binary and open loop with simple smearing between generations.

It seems way more likely for junk DNA to have a complex coded function we don't fully understand than to have no function at all. Otherwise, we should be able to shear off all but those 10,000 codings and produce some much shorter chromosomes - I don't think that this has been demonstrated and in fact, the articles I've been reading seem to indicate the opposite...
