If you imagine it is not cold to call someone names and talk about them crudely, you have a very strange sense of what is cold. Obviously we have a value judgment difference here on what is bad in a thread. I find group discussions of other posters replete with name calling, sexually degrading language, and bathroom humor to be just about the worst thing anyone could do. I think that it would be MUCH better to be indirectly uncivil. I completely disagree with what you have said about this, and perhaps that is the problem- apparently you prefer open hostility, and I do not. We can't like everyone, and it's not a requirement that everyone be warm and fuzzy and accepting of all points of view (you certainly aren't). You are as reflexive and mocking and closed minded as anyone here, so it amuses me that you find these things so repellent. You probably ought to rush right out and find a mirror yourself. Good luck with that. There are many echo chambers on SI, may you find one that suits you.
