IMO, the US has forgotten the lessons of both Vietnam and Iraq (also Korea) and is bent on pursuing the PNAC agenda, come Hell or high water.

I would think this is the first time in history that a great nation has fallen because of its perverse relationship with the political party of a tiny country. I refer, of course, to the relationship between the US and the Likud party of Israel and the series of wars known as the War against Terrorism that the US is undertaking because of that.
