It would more likely be because fewer and fewer citizens even know anything at all about their nation’s foundational principles (as defined in our founding documents -- the Constitution in particular).

I agree with that. But that is part of my point. If enough people do not understand and appreciate what I understand and appreciate, then it loses value. In a democratic and capitalistic society like ours, what is of value is what people are willing to pay for. If they are not willing to pay, then it is, by definition, not of value regardless of what you or I may like to think.

I aagree with you...IMO, of course, it is up to each of us to help our young folks have a better understanding of history and how they can learn from the past so they will succeed in the future...

There are many groups to help facilitate and coordinate our help....

After all, multiculturalism/internationalism is teaching us that there is nothing ‘special’ about America and her history
