Arik T.G.,
My hunch would be your shorts hold good for most of next week, but beware after next weekend or February 9, when another regime of very cold and stormy weather is likely in the Eastern US and parts of the Mid West after some warming this week.

Also a (relatively) positive Iraqi election result could knock down oil prices next week.

FWIW, I closed some nicely profitable short term energy longs Thursday and Friday, which I will likely re-enter after I size things up, after (or if, ggg) we get the correction I expect.

BTW, How do you feel about Gold and PM's in the short to intermediate term??

Best,
Roebear

Arik T.G. and all,
New cold spell forecast back on 1/30 for February 9 is going to be knocked back 4-7 days, best target is February 14-16 for North Central and North Eastern US. The warm spell that had been forecast by National Weather Serivce for the NE back on 1/30 for this week ending Feb. 5 has not been that warm, barely making it to normal or slightly above.

But it does appear we will have that warmer weather in Mid-Atlantic and NE this weekend through the 10th, when it will begin to trend to cold and stormy for the last half of February.

Best,
Roebear
