I do agree that growing food is a basic human right. In fact, the only person I know here who defends Monsanto's business practices is Kid Rock. They are pretty bad business practices for sure! ;-)

"GM crops and industrial agriculture practices deplete the soil and cause the buildup of toxins."

In all seriousness, I'd be interested in seeing evidence of the effect of GM crops on soil ecology as well as how "industrial agriculture" (presumably larger farms) differs from small farming on soil ecology damage. My understanding of GM crops is that they are often designed to require less usage of pesticides, so your statement seems to conflict with what one would expect. As for industrial ag, are you suggesting that they tend to be heavier users of ag chemicals than small farms? If so, what is the basis for that and why do you think that is?
