That is exactly the point of ElM's article, though it didn't quite state it.

Chinese companies are losing billions and are able to stay in business through abundant state subsidies disguised as loans. Foreign companies don't have that luxury. They must make a profit, otherwise there is no point investing in China.

This is not going to end well.
