If you can find the URL for this effect, it would be appreciated. I do not recall seeing any video of this effect. The only thing similar to this that I've seen is a series of images in The Power Hour's "9/11 In Plane Site" which purports to show a flash of light just prior to Flights 11 and 175 impacting the towers. Since this is the only video I've seen with this sort of effect, I'm completely discounting the veracity of what Dave Von Kleist appears to be presenting here. With regards to the South Tower, I have seen still images of one of the jet motor rotors which completely penetrated the building and was subsequently found on the street several blocks away from the Tower. There is a clear indication on several videos of this debris as it is descending from the impact location. *** Regarding the NIST image that you provided, I would say that without context, I don't quite know what to make of the shape of the steel that we're looking at. I'd say that you are correct that the columns were joined by plate steel welded to the interior side of the columns. Thus the image clearly shows the section of wall we are looking at to have been bent outward from the center column. Exactly what this means, and how it came to achieve this shape is certainly still a question in my mind. *** Regarding a question upstream from Searle about blast effects on steel from the possible RDX explosions, I've seen very little in the literature on this matter. One very odd effect was noted at the Worchester Polytechnic Institute website wherein the researchers found some major structural steel elements that appeared to have been eroded as if by a eutectic reaction. "Swiss cheese" is how the steel was described. tms.org *** Re: The plane gets close, the explosives go bang, the columns are bent outward, and the plane slides into the hole without leaving any pieces behind. I have seen nothing to indicate this sequence of events. Best, Ray
