This reminds me a bit of our transaction about aid to the tsunami victims. Do you remember my concern about whether some people were more interested in us getting credit than in doing the good deed?

That issue was trivial in south Asia compared to in Iraq. We have been going so far out of our way to keep US troops in the background during the elections and to give the Iraqis their day in the sun. We have lost troops trying to keep our profile as low as possible. You would have Time undo that with one cover?

It really is true that you can get a lot more done if you don't care who gets credit. Never was that more true than in Iraq.
