no, they only have two other plants in the US (one in Round Rock, TX, and one somewhere else not in the East), so the NC plant will help logistics-wise in serving the East. keep in mind that Dell has continued to steal market share and grow unit volumes thanks to the ineptness of its competitors.

i'm sure they've explained the rationale somewhere if you want to weed through their CC's.
