<possibility of NZ joining the European Community.> You'd joining the champions of an sport that is not going to be in the next Olympics. Consider Mercosur.

I see only a little problem for Helen:

Brazil and big pharma have hardly been the best of friends of late after tiffs over patent protection and more. But Daniel Vasella, soft-spoken head of Novartis, appears to have stolen a march on his rivals in mollifying the unbending Brazilian authorities.

Sporting a surprise beard at yesterday's news conference in Basel, Vasella told Observer's man popping the pills that his outbreak of facial hair had followed a recent holiday along the Rio Negro.

As he was due to meet Brazil's bearded president Luiz Inácio da Silva, Vasella decided to retain his new look. Perhaps that bond explained why the two men apparently hit it off: yesterday, the smooth-talking Swiss was full of praise for Lula's economic policies.

There's another advantage, said Vasella, when asked if he was feeling grizzly about missing out on buying Franco-German group Aventis last year. "Yes, bears are big, but boy they are fast - and they are good at fishing." What bait does he have in mind?

NZ have to join the queue: The plan was approved more than three years ago.

As I explained here, Europe expands its market by 'acquiring' nem members. Africa is going to be associated members of the EU.

Plan is in on going. NZ has to join the queue behind Botswana. Or get on board of Mercosur.

The post-Keynesian regime going to take a good part of the world by storm.

Chinese flooding the market with dirty cheap gensers ad motorcylcles (copy of Yamahas and Hondas)!

Buses body and sturdy technology from Brazil are good bets.
